Talcott’s Week 6 Predictions: Sunday & Monday

by Greg Talcott

Washington at New York Jets: (Start: Chris Ivory, Brandon Marshall Flex: Alfred Morris, Pierre Garcon)

Two teams that are playing better than expected before the season started, but the Jets are even tougher at home and according to Brandon Marshall, they have the best RB in the league.

Jets win 23-17

Arizona at Pittsburgh: (Start: Carson Palmer, Larry Fitzgerald, Chris Johnson, Le’Veon Bell, Antonio Brown Flex: John Brown)

As of right now, Ben Roethlisberger is not playing on Sunday. If Big Ben was playing I would be picking the Steelers in this one. As it stands, the Cardinals opportunistic defense could have a big day against Michael Vick.

Cardinals win 42-24

Kansas City at Minnesota: (Start: Jeremy Maclin, Travis Kelce, Adrian Peterson Flex: Charcandrick West)

The Chiefs were 1-4 with Jamaal Charles, what will they be without him? There was a frantic rush by fantasy owners to add Charcandrick West this week that resembled Black Friday shoppers in search of $100 52-inch TV’s; was it worth it? Time will tell…

Vikings win 23-17

Cincinnati at Buffalo: (Start: LeSean McCoy, AJ Green, Andy Dalton, Tyler Eifert Flex: Giovani Bernard, Jeremy Hill)

I would cautiously take the Bills in this game if they were healthy, but if EJ Manuel is going to start I have to go with the Bengals extending their win streak to 6 to start the season. Cincinnati wins 24-13.

Chicago at Detroit: (Start: Matt Forte, Calvin Johnson Flex: Golden Tate)

There are a lot of injuries and elevated potential for players to be declared out at the last minute for Chicago that this game is near impossible to call. Cutler to this point in the season is outplaying Matthew Stafford by a wide margin while dealing with a skeleton crew at the receiver position. Detroit didn’t even show up last week against Arizona and I see no reason to pick them again until they show some heart, effort, or any shred of pride after their 0-5 start. Bears win 27-17.

Denver at Cleveland: (Start: Ronnie Hillman, Emmanuel Sanders, Demaryius Thomas Flex: Duke Johnson Jr.)

Josh McCown is the first Browns QB in history to throw for over 300+ yards in 3 straight games… There is that proud Cleveland football history for you! However, I would start McCown at this point over Peyton Manning who is having a horrible season, statistically speaking, while the Bronco defense has bailed him out in every game to date. Denver wins 20-17.

Houston at Jacksonville: (Start: DeAndre Hopkins, Allen Hurns, Allen Robinson Flex: TJ Yeldon, Arian Foster)

I would rather watch C-SPAN… Jags win 24-20.

Miami at Tennessee: (Start: Jarvis Landry Flex: Rishard Matthews)

The Titans showed what they are as a team losing at home against the injury plagued Bills. The Dolphins players have nobody to blame but themselves from this point forward after the coaching changes of two weeks ago when Joe Philbin was fired and replaced by Dan Campbell. Dolphins win 23-16.

Carolina at Seattle: (Start: Thomas Rawls, Greg Olsen Flex: Jermaine Kearse, Marshawn Lynch)

Welcome back to reality Carolina, you are not winning in Seattle regardless of how vulnerable the defending NFC champs appear to be. Seahawks win 28-24.

San Diego at Green Bay: (Start: Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb, James Jones, Eddie Lacy, Keenan Allen, Antonio Gates Flex: Melvin Gordon)

Hard to like the Chargers on the road against 5-0 Green Bay when they just lost at home to the Mike Vick led Steelers. Another season, same old Chargers; Green Bay wins 35-21.

Baltimore at San Francisco: (Start: Carlos Hyde (if healthy), Vernon Davis (If healthy), Justin Forsett (if healthy)

If you have the opportunity to watch this game or see a timeshare presentation; go with the timeshare. Two of the worst teams in the league collide to bring you the least the NFL has to offer. 49ers win 21-17.

New England at Indianapolis: (Start: Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, Dion Lewis (f healthy), TY Hilton Flex: LeGarrette Blount, Frank Gore)

The Colts are the beginning of Deflategate in the mind of Tom Brady in addition to being a key AFC rival, Patriots win this game with or without the return of Andrew Luck. New England rolls 42-21 over Indy.

New York Giants at Philadelphia: (Start: Odell Beckham Jr. (if healthy), Eli Manning, Rueben Randle Flex: Jordan Matthews)

The Giants are needing the win to continue to separate themselves from the rest of the division. The Eagles are a mess at running back and have yet to show they can put together consecutive quality games. Giants win 28-24.
