*Stafford and Brees are on Byes
Baker Mayfield – Currently owned in 38.2% of ESPN Leagues
Baker just threw for 342 yards against a very tough Baltimore offense. Last year it took Deshaun Watson a few weeks to get his feet under him and he took off last season. Now Watson has better legs than Baker but its takes a few weeks to get your feet under you. Now he is getting into a stretch of the Chargers, Buccaneers, Steelers, Chiefs, and then Falcons. Those are great defenses to play against right now so Baker is a great option to grab as a back up right now or as a streamer against the Bucs, Chiefs, or Falcons depending on byes.
Jameis Winston – Currently owned in 12.6% of ESPN Leagues
Jameis is coming off of his week 4 bye where he can get plenty of practice and first team reps. He played fairly well against Chicago in the second half throwing for 145 yards and 1 TD 2INTs. But that was all done in obvious passing situations as the Bucs were getting blown out. The justification for Winston right now is the same justification for starting Stafford for so many years. He has a bad defense and no running game to speak of right now so your going to be fine playing him. Atlanta is a great team to stream a QB against as they have given up 3 touchdowns through the air now four weeks in a row.
*Kamara, Ingram, Kerryon Johnson, Blount, Riddick are on Byes
Wendell Smallwood currently only owned in 7.5% of ESPN Leagues
With Ajayi going on injured reserve this week this is now the Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood show and I like Wendell Smallwood to take the lead. Clement has been dealing with injuries the last two weeks and his ability to come back from his hamstring injury is in question for week 6. Smallwood only got six touches this last week but he turned that into 71 yards and a touchdown. If you are hurting at running back Wendell Smallwood should be your number one priority.
(I have told someone who was solid at RB to wait and maintain his #1 waiver priority for next week in case of injury)
D’Onta Foreman – Currently owned in 6.1% of ESPN Leagues.
His ownership is going to skyrocket here this week as Lamar Miller is dealing with his chest injury and Blue was the starter this last week. D’Onta Foreman proved last year that he was better than Blue and was on the heels of Miller. Considering Miller’s injuries this year and his age getting up there look for Foreman to get work instantly when he comes back. The Texans have already come out and said that he is ready to go once he becomes available after this week. I may not start him his first week back because its Jacksonville in week 7, but I believe that Foreman can be second half of the season play that can help you win your league.
Nyheim Hines – Currently owned in 46.9% of ESPN Leagues
This is easy the Colts can run at all right now and their defense may be more banged up than the Falcons after so many guys left the field at various times against the Patriots this last week. The Colts HAVE to throw because their defense has given up 37 and 38 points the last two weeks. Marlon Mack could return this week so some of Hines work could diminish, but Hines has proven himself to be electric in the passing game and with Doyle and T.Y. Banged up and their status not clear yet for their game against the Jets this week Hines is a valuable add.
