Start & Sit: Week 12 QBs – Aaron Kagan

by Aaron Kagan

Start:

Baker Mayfield v. Miami Dolphins

Baker Mayfield has been playing better football as of late. The Miami Dolphins defense has been deconstructed by other franchise quarterbacks this season, and further damage will be done this week. There will be a lot of potential fantasy points for Baker Mayfield to score, and he should be started wherever possible.

Derek Carr @ New York Jets

The Oakland Raiders have surprised many people with their record and play so far this season, and Derek Carr is one facet of that. He holds one of the highest completion percentages in the league. His matchup this week should allow him to score via the pass., especially because all of his weapons are healthy. Start him this week if you need a high floor quarterback.

Sit:

Aaron Rodgers @ San Francisco 49ers

Coming off of the bye week is difficult for any quarterback; in addition to facing one of the best defenses in the league, Aaron Rodgers season has not been one of his best. This could be due partly to the coaching staff change, but the fantasy point production has certainly not been there. This could change as we head into the playoffs, but to avoid a bad matchup, sit Aaron Rodgers this week.

Tom Brady v. Dallas Cowboys

The New England Patriots are depleted at the wide receiver position currently, and that just adds to problems for Tom Brady. With two of his top weapons in Mohamed Sanu and Phillip Dorsett most likely out for this game, he will have very little options in the passing game. The weather will most likely be horrendous which will add to the team having to lean on the run game. it’s difficult to say set the GOAT, but this is precisely the game to do that in. He will have a very low ceiling in this game.

Waiver wire target:

Jeff Driskel, Detroit Lions

Now with reports that Matthew Stafford‘s back injury could take up to six weeks to heal, Jeff Driskel could be a solution if you are in need of a quarterback. He didn’t produce astonishing numbers in his Start last week, but something is better than nothing and having an option on the final bye week of the season is crucial.
