The Memphis Grizzlies ended a disappointing scrimmage slate with momentum.
Now, they’ll look to transfer that momentum into success in their NBA restart opener.
Memphis (32-33) will face the Portland Trail Blazers (29-27) at 3 p.m. Friday in the first Orlando bubble game for both teams. The contest will be broadcast on Fox Sports Southeast and NBA TV.
The Grizzlies are coming off a scrimmage schedule in which they went 1-2, falling to the Philadelphia 76ers and the Houston Rockets before besting the Miami Heat. Memphis won 128-110 over the Heat on Tuesday, with rookie Ja Morant notching 22 points and 12 assists.
Portland went 0-3 during its scrimmage slate, losing to the Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and Oklahoma City Thunder. Its final game before the season’s abrupt halt in March was a 121-105 win over the Phoenix Suns.
Damian Lillard leads the Trail Blazers with 28.9 points and 7.8 assists-per-game. Hassan Whiteside is averaging a team-high 14.2 rebounds-per-game.
