Last night the Dallas Stars were the first, and last, to score in their opener against the Colorado Avalanche. Round 2 got off to a great start, as I said they found the net first and never looked back, closing out Period 1 with a 3 – 1 lead. In Period 2 the Avalanch came roaring back with two goals of their own, but the Stars still managed to come out with one as well, still maintaining their lead by a goal. In Period 3 the Dallas Stars scored once more, and held incredible defense, keeping the Avalanch away from their net. There was no empty goal in the last minutes, but it wasn’t needed as the Stars pulled out a win, 5 – 3.
Each team will have a day between games 1 and 2 so they can regroup. and practice, now knowing what their new opponent is capable of. The Avalanch has to discover what is wrong with their starter goaltender after he went down in the game last night, roomers are he has a leg injury, but nothing definitive has been released by the team. Game 2 will be on Monday, check your local programming for puck drop time.
