Well, here it is, the interview making noise across the Columbus Blue Jacket’s world today. Head Coach John Tortorella has now been fined $25,000, because of comments and his deminer in the above clip from YouTube. This was after the Blue Jackets lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning, in Round 1 of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs last Wednesday. The final score was 5 – 4 in yet another Overtime, sparked by the Lightning managing to come back and tie the game before Period 3 was over.
Months ago, you may not remember, Tortorella was nearly fined the same amount for a clash with refs during a regular-season game, after a call he didn’t agree with. He was asked to keep out of trouble until the end of the 2020 year, if he could, he wouldn’t pay the fine. Now, after this, the NHL has ordered him to do so.
As a sports writer, I believe it is important, for me to give you the facts so you can formulate your own option on matters. I won’t tell you what I believe, because you are plenty capable of deciding yourself if this was the right call by the NHL, or if they got it wrong.
In the end, as always, go Jackets!
