Dallas Stars Win the West!

After two goals from the Golden Knights C. Stephenson and R. Smith it looked as thought the Stars and Golden Knights would face off in a Game 6.  The Stars had other plans as their Captain J. Benn cut the score deficit to a single goal, leaving J. Kiviranta to do the rest, forcing the Golden Knights to meet them in overtime.  I feel like this series was destined to end in overtime, and only 3:36 in we had a goal from D. Gurianov, sending the Stars to the 2020 Stanley Cup final!

The Stars haven’t reached this point in 20 years, and to do so in 2020, maybe it means something?  We will have to wait and see, however, we don’t have to wait to see what force this team is.  Their offence is stealth, they have proven they can be down and then attack out of nowhere to win games.  Their defense is just as deadly to the opponents they face, killing game play and power plays alike, and well able to protect their goaltender Anton Khudobin.  The man pulled after a slump in Game 2, he bounced back in games 2-5, with 99 shots on goal, only allowing the Golden Knights to score 5 times!

This team is a powerhouse from top to bottom, and the Lightning or Islanders should be trying to win their series but also taking notes, because the winner of the West Conference Final will meet this team for the NHL’s 2020 grand finale.  We now know the best of the West, and as soon as this time tomorrow evening, that answer for the East could be just as clear, then comes the real work.

You’ve made it, but when you do, that is the time to make that ice yours, to dominate and win like never before.  It stings to make it this far just to go home empty handed, as the Golden Knights unfortunately know again, but only one can win.  So, who do you think it will be in the very end, with the Stanley Cup and all the 2020 glory? We are getting much closer to finding out the end of our journey, but if your team is out, don’t worry, there are plans in the works for a new kickoff date to the 2020-2021 season!  Right now with new safety precautions in place, hockey looks like it’s here to stay, so stay with us here at Skullking Sports as one season ends and another beings, with a clean slate anything can happen!

For tonight though, I leave you with a very simple and long awaited, go Dallas Stars!
