Tampa Bay Lightning Win 2020 Stanley Cup
It’s all over NHL Fans!
In Period 1 B. Point scored, yet again, putting his team on the board and on the hunt. The Lightning knowing a win tonight would give them their 2020 Stanley Cup they craved. In Period 2, B. Coleman helped solidify that lead, putting the Lightning up 2 – 0. This would be the final score of the night, Game 6 would be the final in this long and unconventional 2020 Stanley Cup race, spanning over 2 months and 2 Canada hub cities. Tonight, fans all over celebrate their Tampa Bay Lighting, you 2020 Stanley Cup Champions! It has been 16 yeas since their first, and only, Stanley Cup in franchise history.
The Dallas Stars had their own spectacular run, not going home with the Stanley Cup, but still going home as NHL Western Conference Champions. Although they couldn’t force a Game 7 tonight, they challenged their opponents with skill on offence and defense, in the end the Lightning were just too strong in their consistent defense, and constant goal scoring. Having to play a Game 6 after losing their first chance at the Stanley Cup in Game 5, the Lightning had no intent to wait another period, let alone game longer to be champions. Even so, those in Texas and fans everywhere, can and should be proud of their Stars, having made it this far for the first time in 20 years!
With this season in the books, we now look forward to the 2020 – 2021 season. There is speculation the NHL is looking towards an early December start, as we continue playing in the era of Covid-19, uncertain how next season may look. With the season cut short, going straight into the playoffs, we have yet to see how they will handle a regular season games as a league. Before this though, all teams will get some fresh players, as the NHL Draft kicks off the 6th and 7th of October, with free agency opening right after on the 9th. So, we’re going to shake up the teams, put some safety protocols in place and move forward with caution and excitement, just as before.
