With the NBA Draft slated for Nov. 18, analysts and experts, as usual, are working to predict which players will be taken by each franchise.

The Memphis Grizzlies hold the No. 40 overall pick, a second-rounder. Who will the team select with their one slot?

A recent mock draft, published by USA Today Sports’ Rookie Wire, predicts the Grizzlies will draft BYU forward Yoeli Childs.

Childs, who recently finished his senior season with the Cougars, twice entered his name in the NBA Draft pool before removing it and returning to school. He averaged at least 17 points-per-game his last three collegiate seasons and averaged at least eight rebounds-per-contest all four.

Childs’ best season was his senior campaign, as the Utah native averaged 22.2 points and nine rebounds-per-game in 2019-20. He also recorded a career-best shooting percentage at .574.

Memphis currently has six forwards on its roster, including standout power forward Jaren Jackson Jr., who finished second on the team last season with 17.4 points-per-game and first in blocks at 1.6.

Adding more power to the lineup, though, couldn’t hurt, as additional talent in the post would pair well with star point guard Ja Morant, giving Memphis even more of a balanced attack.
