It seemed like Ameer Abdullah was everyone’s pick to be a breakout player in his rookie campaign. I even jumped on the “Fear Ameer” train. However, after a hot start to the season, Abdullah cooled off, fumbling 5 times his rookie year and losing a lot of carried to Joique Bell and even fellow rookie Zach Zenner.
With Bell now released and out of the picture, look for Abdullah to get the first chance as the lead runner for the Lions. If Detroit can improve its sieve of an offensive line, Abdullah may be able to have a respectable fantasy season in 2016.
