Week six streamable options, not too many fish in the sea for defenses owned in less than 50% of the ESPN leagues. Below are some defenses that can give you a score where you will be satisfied with their start. Kinda like a draft beer over a can of Miller Lite.
Titans D/ST (16.3% owned) vs IND – Tennessee has a major chance to finish in the top five overall defenses let alone top five streamable. The Colts will a have hard time running with Frank Gore slowing down even on the Titans’ 18th ranked run defense. This makes for Jacoby Brissett to have to throw, and throw a lot. If the Titans can limit big plays we could see a 10 plus fantasy defense score.
Rams D/ST (32.4%) @Jax – The fifth ranked defensive front ranked by Pro Football Focus including players like Aaron Donald, Michael Brockers, Dominique Easley, and Mark Barron. The Rams will need to keep Fournette under control since they have allowed more than 668 yards so far. The LA Rams rank 10th in passing yards allowed with 208 per game (Pittsburgh is first with 139.6). If they keep the running game og Jax under control, they could be a streamable option. Eight points is what I predict from a very aggressive defense line.
Redskins D/ST (5.1%) SF – With only being owned in just over 5% of leagues, the Washington Redskins are a startable option facing the 49ers. The 49ers running backs are risky with Carlos Hyde being benched in second half last year facing Colts. Redskins rank 10th against the run with 88.8 yards a game. This makes for a 49ers running game at risk vs Redskins. Redskins also rank 15th on passing yards with 223 yards a game. I predict 7 to 9 points facing 49ers.
Buccaneers D/ST (10.3%) @Ari – Carson Palmer has not been lighting it up with several 15 point games and only one over 20 points. The Buccaneers average 309 passing yards a game putting them at 31st. In passing yards Buccaneers rank 8th with 87.3 yards a game. If they manage to hold the passing yards they could manage a 7 point game. Making them a streamable defense.
Packers D/ST (21.6%) @Min – With Sam Bradford back he was very rusty over the first half of the Monday game vs the Bears. If they start Bradford again, Greenbay could do some major damage. Green Bay ranks 22nd in Running defense with 121.4 yards a game. In passing defense they rank 6th with 200 yards a game. Something to keep an eye out for if Bradford starts, it could be very streamable option with anywhere from 6 to 9 points.
