Aaron Rodgers had a career year last season in terms of passing yards with 4,442. Despite his career in passing yards Aaron Rodgers fantasy stock value has been on the decline in recent years and the big question is will he be a top 10 fantasy QB again? I’m here to give my opinion on it.
Aaron Rogers looks like he’s having fun again, he’s smiling, he’s joking around, he’s happy. This is an Aaron Rodgers that we haven’t seen in a very long time. I don’t know if it’s because it’s an exciting new offense and the Packers finally have a running game, or he doesn’t have to deal with Mike McCarthy anymore or that the Packers defense is starting to do their job. Whatever the case may be Rodgers is enjoying playing football again instead of looking like a guy that had a regular 9-5 that he hated and was just going through the motions.
Despite Rodgers looking like he enjoys football again his numbers are still down, the Packers are hot starting the season 4-1 but Rodgers has only thrown for over 250 yards once this season…and that was in the loss to Philadelphia he threw for 422 yards with 2 TD’s and an interception. In years past the Packers relied heavily on Rodgers in order for the offense to be effective, in LaFleur’s offense that’s no longer the case, Aaron Jones is starting to come alive in the Packers backfield having an impressive 4 TD performance against the cowboys.
It’s too early to tell since we are only 5 games into the season, but it appears that Aaron Rodgers will have a down year in terms of passing yards in Matt LaFleur’s new offense, Aaron Rodgers is an incredible quarterback and always finds ways to win but I do not think that he will become a top 10 quarterback in fantasy this season.
