Two Fantasy RBs to Consider Trading Away – Anthony Haage

by Anthony Haage

With the trade deadline coming in the distance, it’s time to take a look at two players that you need to trade away before the fantasy playoffs.

David Johnson

DJ has a difficult schedule coming up, including a bye. The Cardinals have TB, SF, Bye, LAR, PIT, CLE, and SEA. On top of that, Kenyan Drake and Chase Edmonds have earned playing time with their performances while David Johnson was injured. The next 3 weeks for David Johnson are not good, TB has ranked 31st in fantasy points against RBs, SF has ranked 29th, and then the Cardinals have the week 12 bye. Although Johnson should be able to provide decent fantasy points, I don’t see him having any crazy high scoring games and helping your team to the fantasy playoffs.

Devin Singletary

Singletary has seemed to grab the starting RB job in Buffalo after his 20 rushing attempts for 95 yards, but I would take this time to sell high on Singletary. Singletary has been incredibly efficient, making his fantasy numbers look good, but unsustainable. He is currently averaging 6.7 YPC in five games along with 3 touchdowns. Unless the Bills change their ways and stop giving Frank Gore carries, I would feel better about having him on my fantasy roster. Singletary has two good matchups coming up in the next two weeks against CLE and MIA who have ranked 7th and 4th against RB’s in fantasy this year. After that, the Bills face: DEN, DAL, BAL, PIT, and NE who have all ranked below 21st in fantasy points allowed to RB’s. It would be hard to see Singletary continuing the incredible efficiency against these tough defenses.
