Two WRs That Could Struggle Week 14 – Will Sparling

by Will Sparling

John Brown

John Brown has been a great asset to have this season, he’s a top 15 WR season to date. Brown is a favorite target for his QB Josh Allen, seeing an average of 8 targets per game. The last two weeks though have not been kind to Brown, posting a combined 6 receptions for 65 yards and 1 touchdown. It does not get any easier in Week 14, Brown will be facing a Ravens secondary that has only gotten stronger as the season progresses, and with the addition Marcus Peters the Ravens are a top ranked passing defense. Expectations for Brown should be tempered, and Brown should be looked like a risky flex play at best. I project him with 3 receptions 45 yards.

D.J. Chark

Chark will be this years best waiver wire pick, posting numbers to put him at number 7 WR this year. Chark is also in luck, the mustache is back! With Gardner Minshew back we should see Chark being force fed targets. This week will be a tough matchup, the Chargers secondary has gotten healthier and Chark will being seeing coverage from Casey Hayward. Hayward is coming off an embarrassing game where he let Courtland Sutton score two TDs, so Hayward will probably be looking make up for last week. Chark hasn’t been very consistent from week to week and this matchup would be one that I would try to stay away from. I have Chark projected at 4 receptions for 58 yards.
