The Carolina Panthers have dipped into the XFL pool yet again, this time signing tight end Colin Thompson. Just a month ago the Panthers signed former Houston Roughnecks quarterback P.J. Walker. Thomson recently played for the Tampa Bay Vipers. Thompson also had stints with the Bears and Giants. His numbers in Tampa were not that staggering. In 5 games he caught 1 pass for 13 yards. This move is to obviously add depth at that position. With the departure of Greg Olsen, Ian Thomas and Chris Manhertz are the only other options. And of course, Colin played his college ball at Temple under Rhule. If my math is correct, Thompson is the 5th former Owl to sign with Carolina.
