Panthers sign Michael Schofield

The Panthers have added experience and durability to their offensive line.  Carolina has signed guard Michael Schofield to a one-year deal.  Terms have yet to be released.

Over the past two seasons Schofield has started every game for the Chargers.  However, the writing was on the wall that he would not be returning when the Chargers traded for former Panther Trai Turner.   Before his there years in L.A., he spent three seasons with the Broncos.  He faced off against Carolina in Super Bowl 50.

This is definitely an area of need for the Panthers.  Along with Turner, guard Greg Van Roten is no longer with Carolina.  He left for the Jets.  Schofield joins fellow guard Jon Miller, who was singed back in late March.
