CBJ Assistant General Manager Departs

Today the Florida Panthers and Columbus Blue Jackets announced the current Columbus Blue Jackets Assistant General Manager, Bill Zito, will take on a new role elsewhere next season. Bill will become the General Manager for the Florida Panthers, leaving the Columbus Blue Jackets team, one he has served for just shy of 7 years. In the time he has worn several hats in the organization behind the scenes, including Alternate Governor, Senior Vice President of Hockey, and this final position with us as the Associate General Manager. That is a lot of work and achievement in just 7 years, and it doesn’t even include his work with the Cleveland Monsters, resulting in their 2016 Calder Cup Championship, or his other assorted works that resulted in bronze metals for other United States hockey organizations as well!
Although it is sad to see one of the team go, be them from the ice, bench, or office, this is a huge opportunity and we wish him all the best as he heads to Florida, and his newly appointed position. He may no longer serve the Columbus Blue Jackets, but he will go on to serve the NHL, and we cannot wait to see what he does next!
