Carlos “Tizil” Mota is a mixed martial artist competing in the Flyweight division for Legacy Fighting Alliance.
Mota is currently 5-0 and is one the biggest and brightest young prospects outside of the UFC. It would not be shocking in the slightest to hear that Mota has got called up to the biggest fight promotion in the world in 2021.
Mota recently spoke with SkullKing Sports for an interview.
Hi Carlos, How are you? How was training during a global pandemic?
“I’m doing good. Thank you. I kept training hard all the time, protecting myself and my partners.”
I see and hear that you are learning English. How is that going?
“Yes. My coach, Francisco Bueno, and Marcio Bernstein are teaching me. Whenever possible. They speak in English with me. I am sure that once I stay in the USA for at least 6 months (and beat my opponents, of course), I will be speaking good English by myself very soon.”
You didnβt fight in 2020. How do you feel about that?
“I was ready, and I am still ready. The reason I didn’t fight was that COVID caused the closing of borders. I hope COVID ends this year, and we will get back to normal in 2021.”
I have a lot to learn, that makes me happyπππ₯πΊπΈπ§π· pic.twitter.com/pqoFXTZaN3

What are your plans for 2021? How many fights do you want?
“I plan to show the world my skills and to get what is mine. I really hope I am able to fight at least four or five times. I need to make up for lost time.”
Do you plan on fighting for the LFA Flyweight title?
“Yes! Not only to fight but also get the belt as soon as possible.”
How many fights do you think until the UFC calls you?
“I think I am one fight away.”
What are your thoughts on the flyweight division?
“The flyweight division is very competitive and has so many good fighters. However, none of them are ready as I am, and none of them are complete as I do. It is only a matter of time for me to show the world what I am capable of.”
If you have a message for your fans, what is it?
“To my fans, trust me… I know who I am, I know what I am capable of, and I know where I came from – what I have passed through. NO ONE will get what is mine!!!”
Mota is planning on fighting early in 2021. He is coming off of a 36 second TKO win against George Martinez at LFA 79.
