BREAKING: Bears DC, Chuck Pagano Retiring
It appears as though the Chicago Bears will be on the hunt for a new defensive coordinator for the 2021 season. Per NFL.com, Chuck Pagano will be calling it a career, and will step away from the sidelines at the age of 60.
Pagano has spent the last two seasons serving under Matt Nagy and was tasked with leading this Bears defense after fan favorite, Vic Fangio, who had led the defense during a historical season in which the unit led the NFL in takeaways and surrendered the fewest points to opponents. As many fans have been witness to these last two years, that level of play has been absent.
The defensive coordinator position will be a key role to fill for the upcoming season with offensive-minded head coach Matt Nagy still likely to return.
