CBJ Ride Out the Hurricanes!

The past two days have been quite interesting in Nationwide Arena.  Last night, the fireworks started long before Super Bowl 55, as the Blue Jackets-Hurricanes game 1 took a controversial turn.  A challenge by the Blue Jackets on a goal was not overturned, resulting in a good goal for the Hurricanes, was later revealed to be offside.  The wrong information being reviewed resulted in the Hurricanes winning the game, by a single goal.  It is still a shock to the team, CBJ fans, and those across the NHL that a mistake like this happened.  For now, this game still stands as a win for the Hurricanes.

Moving to tonight’s game, just over 24 hours after, the Blue Jackets were ready to play and makeup for the loss last night.  Late in Period 1, Harrington would open scoring for the game, putting the Blue Jackets up 1-0.  In Period 2 Niederreiter would even the score for the game at 1-1.  Immediately after, in the same period though, Atkinson would score number 201.  This would put the Jacket’s up 2-1.  However, McGinn would come to score for his team, knotting us up at 2-2, going into Period 3.   Roslovic would save us from yet another Overtime.  His score would put the Jackets up 3-2, and this is your final!

The Blue Jackets will have a few days to rest up before heading to Chicago.  This will be a 2-game stay in the Blackhawks arena on Thursday and Saturday.  Both games are set for an 8 PM puck drop.

Go CBJ!
