News is circulating that a deal could be on the horizon between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Carolina Hurricanes. The Blue Jackets would hand over their 7th pick in the 2022 Draft, and in exchange, acquire Gregory Hofmann’s exclusive signing rights. The NHL Forward was a 2011 Draft pick for the club. Due to the way Switzerland operates their NHL contract agreements, he has been with the team for the last 10 years, but he could dawn a new team jersey soon. It seems as though this is what he would prefer, as he has made it clear he wants no deal the Hurricanes have offered him to this point. After showing off his skill in the Switzerland league, many scouts have dubbed Hofmann a worthy prospect, who could strengthen any team his contract goes to. In his most recent time playing with the Zug EV team, he has participated in 132 games, with a staggering 70 goals over that small streak. Best of all, this is over a three-year time span, showing he has improved or stayed consistent, during this time.
