Today the authorities announced that their investigation, into Matiss Kivlenieks death, had concluded. The Blue Jackets goaltender was apparently struck by a firework, on the 4th of July holiday. They were unable to save him. In their report, they ruled out the use of drugs and or alcohol, as a contributing factor in his death. We will stay on top of this story, as it develops, because although the police have ruled this an accident, the prosecutors office can disagree. If they do, charges could still be brought against those involved, depending on their interpretation of the full report, and what it reveals. We’re still waiting, as many news outlets are, to see that full report.
Again, we offer our deepest condolences to his family, team, and the 5th line. All of whom are still morning his passing, over a week later.
