Give Werenski Six More Years- You Know We Want Him!

Just released, Zach Werenski just agreed to terms of a six-year contract extension!  For that six-year block he will be paid a whopping $57.5 million.  I approve!  With Seth Jones gone, he is easily the leader of the defense now, as I see.  Last season, with injuries, he still managed a total of 20 points in just 35 games.  Overall, he’s played in 335 games, and had a staggering 189 points.  It’s incredible, especially for only a twenty-four-year-old.

With a better performing team, the sky is the limit for this first-round pick from way back in 2015, no doubt.  Further, I vote he become an alternate captain, it’s long overdue. I can’t wait to see him back on the ice in October, and it’s comforting to know the Blue Jackets office, appreciates him as much as the fan base does.

“Zach Werenski has been one of the top defensemen in the National Hockey League over the past five years and we are thrilled that he will continue to be a Blue Jacket and the leader of our blueline for at least the next seven years. As talented as Zach is and as much as he has achieved so early in his career, he is an even better person and will be a foundational player for our club as we move forward.”  (  The GM said, and he is 100% correct.
