Today, the Columbus Blue Jackets signed two new players to short contracts. First, this morning, came Zac Rinaldo. The man has played in the NHL for 10 years, and is currently thirty-one years of age. With 374 games under his belt in this time, he has notched a fair 42 total points. He has an extensive resume to back up these numbers too. Having been a Flame, Bruin, Flyer, Predator, and Coyote. This deal will split his time during this upcoming season, as the deal with the blue Jackets is for only said season. He will remain in the AHL (American Hockey League), but be at the ready for the Blue Jackets, should he be needed. Always a good thing, as you can never have too many backups on a tea,. Not just for injury sake, but Covid-19 illness as well.
The second signing happened just recently, a few hours ago. This is a much bigger deal, which will last player Stanislav Svozil for three years. He most likely has a longer contract as he is just eighteen-years-old. Further, in his home country of the Czech Republic, he has played just 71 games, but racked up a total of 8 points in such. He has skill, but also room to grow exponentially with the Blue Jackets team. He is also a Defender, so it is nice to see the team taking the problems of last season seriously, and beefing up the D-Line.
