Dak Prescott Might Not Play At All This Pre-Season- Cowboys

Head Coach McCarthy has made it clear, if Dak Prescott cannot play this Saturday as quarterback, against Huston, he will not play in the 2021 Pre-season.  Why?  Pre-season is meant to find the backups for a team, and he will utilize the final pre-season game, against Jacksonville, to solidify his roster.  Thus, Prescott will not play, given his definitive starter position.  McCarty said in part, “We’ll see how the week goes, but there’s no urgency from my perspective to see Dak play against Houston,”  (https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32036120/dallas-cowboys-coach-mike-mccarthy-feels-no-urgency-play-dak-prescott-preseason).  It makes perfect sense in my mind, why risk your quarterback in pre-season, if he is a seasoned veteran of the game?  Further, if he is with the team as well.  Rest him up and be sure he is ready to take on Brady, in week one, against the defending Super Bow Champions.  It just makes sense.
