He was picked second by the Columbus Blue Jackets in this years 2021 Draft, and now he can officially call himself a Blue Jacket. Sillinger was given the honor of Rocky Of The Year last season, when he scored a total of 46 points. Even better, he only had a total of 39 penalty minutes. It’s a crazy high number, and given this was over just 31 games, you can understand the desire to draft him.
Sillinger also has roots here in Columbus, as his dad Mike was part of the Blue Jackets during his extensive, 18 year career. He stayed here, and Cole Sillinger has made it clear how happy he is to play for his dad’s former team, as well as his home NHL team. His contract will last 3 seasons, and we can’t wait to see what this brand new center will accomplish here in Columbus!
