First Overtime Of The Blue Jackets Season Ends In Win! Jackets 2-0!

It was a game of great defense in Nationwide Arena tonight, as the Seattle Kraken visited the Columbus Blue Jackets for the very first time.  The first period was scoreless.  The second the Kraken scored by way of Tanev.  In the third period Robinson scored for the Blue Jackets, resulting in a tied game, which went into overtime.  Laine would then score his first of the season, going 2-0-0 this season and at home!

Again, Merzlikins made some crazy saves.  He let 1 puck past him in 20 Kraken attempts.  He is making Columbus and Kivi proud, along with his team, no doubt.

Huffman also got his first point, in the NHL, with an assist on the first goal by Robinson.

Also, for all of you numbers fans out there, it’s only the third time in franchise history that the team has started the season 2-0.  Such hasn’t happened since the 2014-15 season.

Next game is away in Detroit against the Red Wings.  Puck drop is set for  Tuesday, October 19th at 7:30 PM.

We’ll see you then 5th Line!
