The first two periods were scoreless, but if you were for some crazy reason board, period 3 fixed that right up. The Red Wings would score twice on a very focused Korpisalo, these scores came from Raymond and Bertuzzi. After this, a wild situation would unfold.
Blue Jackets Roslovic, would make a hard hit on Raymond. He would fall to the ice, while Roslovic would continue on. He got down the ice and was then taken on by both Bertuzzi (59) and Larkin (71). A fight would ensue. When the dust settled, Raymond went back to the locker room to be checked out. Bertuzzi was given a minor penalty as the result of ruffing. Nothing was called against Roslovic.
After this, on the minor call, the Blue Jackets Captain Jenner scored. However, an empty net goal by Namestnikov followed by one from Eme would result in a Blue Jackets loss. The final was 4-1. Personally, the team I saw in the last two games can bounce back from this, they can play better than this, I’ve seen it. Korpisalo did well in net, out of the Red Wings 45 shots on his goal, only two passed him. The offense just needs to take more opportunities, which is shown by their lower 23 shots on goal.
The Blue Jackets will come home to Nationwide Arena on Thursday October, 21st. The Islanders will visit from New York and put drop is set for 7:00 PM. They are now 2-1-0 on the 2021-22 NHL Season.
