Blue Jackets

Blues Best Blue Jackets 6-3

The first period tonight was promising.  Jenner hit a goal at 12:38 and the defense kept the Blues at bay.  At the end of Period 1 the Blue Jackets would lead 1-0.  However, in Period 2, the wheels as they say would fall off the bus, big time.

At 0:58 Tarasenko would sore for the Blues, making it 1-1.  Barbashev would then put another goal into the Korpisalo net at 1:56.  2-1 Blues.  To round out the second period, Kyrou would score for the Blues, again, making it 3-1.  The Blue Jackets had only one hope in the second period, and that was Korpisalo managing to stop the scoring at three goals.  It doesn’t sound like it, but believe me, this could have been a much higher score if not for his efforts.

In the third period Boqvist would score for the Blue Jackets.  This was great as it cut thee Blues lead to 3-2.  Unfortunately this advantage wouldn’t last too long.  This Blue Jackets goal came at 1:03 and at 5:42 the Blues would score again, this time by way of Faulk.  At 10:30 Buchnevich would score for the Blues, driving the score up to a 5-2 Blues lead.  Not long after Barbashev would make his second trip to the Korpisalo net, making the score a 6-2 Blues lead.  This second score for one player would be matched by the Blue Jackets though, as Boqvist would score his second goal as well tonight.  6-3 Blues.  Sadly, his goal came with less than 2:00 left in Period 3, and the momentum just wasn’t there.  The Blue Jackets would fall tonight, 6-3.

This means the win streak ends at 3.  Personally, for Ohio, it wasn’t a great day.  Ohio State Buckeyes lost to the Team Up North.  Blue Jackets lost on the road in St. Louis.  However, the Men’s Ohio State Hockey Team did win 3-2.  So, there is an upside to today.

The Blue Jackets simply just lost their steam and got berried in the end.  Tuesday, November 30th will be a new night and game though.  The team will travel now to Tennessee to face the Predators.  Puck drop is set for the same time as tonight, 8:00 PM.  Hopefully the team can regroup, soon, as we still have 3 more road games to go before the team returns to Nationwide Arena.

Until then 5th Line, Go CBJ!
